The Almighty God must have worn a devilish grin the day he gave the passion for writing to a girl who feels her voice only resonates sound waves when she is alone. Undeniably, He must have known her earthquake of a memoir would shake the world of every person who once silenced her. One day my story will be heard, if not until the day my book finds a Barnes & Noble’s shelf, so be it. Until then, I will write if only to be heard by the keyboard beneath my fingertips.
I am a southern born and Baptist raised blue collar worker, and venti quad iced caramel macchiatos (with almond milk instead of 2%) are myself prescribed guilty pleasure medication. I enjoy cooking, although I believe the good Lord thought I would be too powerful on this Earth if He made me good at it. I admit I may bring shame to every Nana south of the Mason-Dixon line when I try to make grits, so I’m more of a “do the dishes afterward” kind of woman. Country music is my therapy, from Dolly Parton and Shania Twain to George Strait and Garth Brooks. My family is a mixture of the Griswold’s and the Robertson’s, and I wouldn’t want them any other way. The purpose of my blog is to provide an outlet for me to publish miniature pieces I create throughout life, as I privately work to write the book I have been passionate about as long as I can remember. Occasionally, I may upload small pieces of work that will not be pieced together until my memoir is available in hard copy. I will do this not only to show gratitude by giving a preview to the readers supporting me throughout my writing journey, but also in hopes of luring in new readers, bringing more traffic to this website. Oh, how I long for the day I finally see, “J. Abrams: Published Writer,” for that will be the day my lifelong dream comes true. I appreciate all support and constructive criticism along the way. I open my posts to welcome comments and have linked an email address specifically created to build a private bridge for readers of this blog to communicate with me. Whether you are a fellow writer and seek to request or offer advice, or you are a reader with feedback, or if you are in search of someone to write something for your personal or professional use, I invite you to take advantage of my linked email and reach out to me. Thank you for stopping by and reading the words a small-town Carrie Bradshaw wannabe puts into order to express herself. I hope you enjoy what you read!
