after years of saying “one day,” i finally bought thelifeofj.com. i mean, it’s about time, right? for those of you following me over from my previous blog, abramsjessie.wordpress.com, thank you so much for your continued support. if you’re new here, well,hi, i’m j.
i started blogging in junior high. originally my blog was titled “journey of j,” and in august of 2016 i changed it to “the life of j.” “the life of j” has become more than just a title of something, this phrase represents my work. it represents my life in words and rhymes, and the font “anton.” the name won’t ever change again.
as far as what this site is about.. i just write. sometimes i share things other people have written because it inspires me. you’ll find quotes all over the place because i think it’s so important to give credit where credit is due versus switching up the way a sentence is worded & calling it your own. i’ve asked people what their favorite quote is numerous times in my life when i needed a conversation ice breaker. whenever i’m gifted a journal by friends or family i always request they sign the inside cover with their favorite quote.
so please share yours with me in the comments and let me know you made it over to TLOJ 2.0! ♡ and as always, if you like it, share it. if you subscribe, you’ll get a notification every time i post something new. i am thankful for all of my subscribers who have been with me since the beginning. this is a brand new site, so i am starting all over again! it will be worth it though. i have been changing as a person and as a writer over the past year. i am proud of my growth and my plans for new concepts, works, collections, etc. that i can’t wait to put into motion.
♥♡ thank you for your support. love, 𝒿.
introducing
i am starting a new collection, i’m calling it “poetry from the vault.” this will showcase poems that i wrote years ago but have yet to share. the best way to explain these pieces is that at the time they were written, the context was too heavy on my heart. the situation was too tense, it was just “too soon” to talk about whatever the topic was. i knew i wanted to share these poems eventually, but i wasn’t ready yet. now, i am ready. now is the time! so as you read pieces from my “poetry from the vault” collection, please remember i am not in the same mind state i was when i wrote them. i still want to share these poems, in case they can help someone who can currently relate to them in some way. i still find pride in these poems, and want to continue to show vulnerability and passion in everything i publish. at one time i lived the words written in these pieces, but these poems do not reflect who i am today or any current situations in my life. i’m excited to start this collection, which brings me to my next point — subscribe so you don’t miss anything! and as always, if you like it, share it. ♥ ♡ thank you for your support. love, 𝒿.

to the girls dreaming of turning a bad boy good, it’s possible, i did it. but this piece goes deeper than that. DOPE BOY aims to give hope to people who have loved ones fighting battles with addiction. this piece reminds them not to turn a cold shoulder or be angry, but to love and love and love those suffering, because love is what they are really searching for in every high
after i finished writing this piece, it took me over four months to decide on a title. oddly enough, one night i randomly saw the word “progress” somewhere, and it just felt perfect. i was eager to share progression at first but i’m glad i didn’t rush to settle on a name, and instead waited until i found the perfect title to represent this poem.
finished & published on janurary 1st at midnight, prophecy was the start of more than just year 2022 for me. this piece began a rhythmical, autobiographical timeline, portraying my evolvement as a person & as a writer. followed by progression & odyssey, i have plans to continue growing this collection. this is the poem i am the proudest of.
odyssey, by definition, is a long an eventful journey. need i say more? the third & latest poem in it’s sequel, this piece ties together the two that came before it — prophecy & progression.
i write from my heart, not for money. i won’t send you spam.
